EVENT: Writing for Impact: Effective Audit Report Writing Workshop
DATE: February 9-11, 2022
VENUE: Hilton Hotel, Nairobi
Good internal audit report writing skills are crucial for internal auditors. Internal auditor’s report is an important deliverable for every Internal Audit assignment, but it is not an easy thing to do. Internal auditors need to create reports that are clear, logical, and convincing. Writing compelling content requires correct presentation and sequencing of observations and findings. A well-written report can enhance the credibility of both the internal auditor and the Internal Audit function whereas a badly written report can have an adverse effect which can end up putting all the effort into waste.
By participating in this course, auditors at all levels in the public and private sectors will learn what goes into an effective audit observation and how to organize reports that meet professional standards, elicit management action, and communicate crucial messages to executives and board-level readers. By honing these skills, they can distinguish themselves in their current positions and prepare themselves for advancement.
This three-day course focuses on the organization and structure of audit reports and includes case study activities for practicing the basics of audit reports.

In the 18 months since the COVID-19 pandemic first shuttered the world, organizations have learned to embrace the unexpected. Board members, C-suite executives, and chief audit executives — the key players in risk management — now know that low likelihood/high impact risks must be given greater consideration. This realization has jolted boards into greater awareness of risk management weaknesses, energized senior management to build more nimble and resilient organizations, and positioned internal audit to deliver broader value.
