Event: Conducting Internal Audit from Cradle to Grave Workshop

Internal Auditors and non-auditors with little audit experience often find themselves with responsibility for developing and monitoring internal controls. Conducting Internal Audit from Cradle to Grave workshop will help them to learn to carry out an audit from beginning to end, understand risks and their role in auditing and understand how to identify, evaluate, and document internal controls. By attending the workshop, participants will be able to learn how to use the preliminary survey to determine how and what to audit, discover the best techniques for gathering audit evidence and prepare work papers, enhance and practice interpersonal and team-building skills throughout the audit and understand the importance of the audit communication process.

The workshop will cover:

  • The Internal Auditor’s Roles and Responsibilities.
  • Internal Auditing Standards.
  • The Audit Model: Performance of Audit Work.
  • Documenting and Evaluating Internal Controls.
  • The Audit Program.
  • Workpapers and Audit Evidence.
  • Developing Audit Findings.
  • Analytical Review Using Audit Software.
  • Teamwork, Interpersonal Skills, and Interviewing.
  • Case Studies.

This workshop will be held from May 25-27, 2022 at the Hilton Hotel, Nairobi. Charges are KES 40,000 and KES 45,000 exclusive of VAT for Members and Non-Members respectively. Members in attendance will earn 20 CPE Hours.


The Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya is an accredited training provider with the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). The NITA registration number is DIT/TRN/558(25b). Participants who are registered levy contributors can apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. This applies to Kenyan citizens and is subject to NITA regulations.
